Rosacea is a circulatory disorder occurring usually in adults. It is commonly seen in people of the Celtic or Scandinavian race. It appears mainly on the face although may also be present on the neck, scalp, ears or chest. A frequent flushing or blushing condition that lasts longer than normal best describes the sysptoms of rosacea. This can progress and form pimples and blood vessels visible under the surface of the skin.

Rosacea is characterized by flare ups and remissions. Flare ups can be reduced and minimized by making lifestyle changes.
Symptoms of rosacea include the following:
Flushing skin
Persistent redness and inflammation
Unexplained bumps and pimples that aren't from acne, congestion, or normal breakouts
Visible blood vessels or spider veins
Irritation of the eyes
Burning or stinging skin
Rough facial skin that appears very dry
Raised red patches, also known as plaques
Skin thickening on the nose or cheeks
Swelling of the face
If any of these symptoms are present due to no apparent reason and persists for several days, it is advisable to consult your dermatologist immediately. Early detection and diagnosis of rosacea is important for its treatment so as to prevent this condition from further complications.
