You can use basic ingredients found around the house to make your own simple, hydrating masks. If you have oily or acne prone skin, mud or clay-based masks are great for balancing out your skin. Dry skin will benefit from hydrating masks made from glycerin, honey and oils.
Homemade Facial Scrub Instead of Soap
This is for the lady who wanted a homemade facial mask. First, clean your face with water only. Never use soap. You can open your pores with hot compresses (washcloth) For a facial scrub, moisten oatmeal to a “goo”, use it to scrub your face (not around your eyes). Wash off with cool water.
Easy Facial Mask
This is a great “mask”, I use all the time (no complications w/ grounding almonds and etc):
Get a small bowl. Put in a dime size amount of your body wash, it should be moisturizing, not see-through (should be lotiony). Put in another dime size amount of your conditioner (not see-through, should be lotiony too). Add some acne soap and a squirt of face lotion. Mix with your hands and apply
Face Packs for Oily Skin
Mask 1. Tomato Mask : For oily skin, mash up a ripe tomato and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Mask 2. For Potato face pack you will need One teaspoon of potato juice and One teaspoon of multani mitti. Blend both the ingredients together and apply on the face. Leave it until it dries and wash off with lukewarm water.
Homemade Facial Masks for oily skin
Mask 1. It works wonders - Grate an apple finely and then add about 4 tablespoons of honey. Mix it well apply it to your face wait 10 minutes and rinse.
Honey Facial Mask
Rinse your face with warm water to open up the pores. Apply honey and leave for half an hour. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores
Fruit Masque for dehydrated skin:
Ingredients:
1 cup of mixed mashed fruit (try melon, peaches, strawberries, and bananas)
2-3 Tbsp. Double cream
3 tsp. cottage cheese
1 tsp. brown sugar
4 tsp. oatmeal powder
Blend all the ingredients together and apply on your face. Relax for ten minutes, and rinse off with warm water.
Herbal Mint Facial Toner
Combine tea bags, mint and water in a saucepan (figure C). Bring to a boil and steep. Mix equal parts of the mixture with distilled water in a spray bottle. It should keep in the refrigerator for two days.
Banana Facial Mask. Get ½ banana and mash. Then you need to combine it with 1 tbsp honey and around 2 tbsp of sour cream. Apply to the face thoroughly and set for 7-10 minutes. Gently wipe off the facial mask before you wash your face.
