Thermage

Thermage also know as a thermal lift will give you many of the same benefits of a surgical face lift. Thermage will also renew the texture of your skin by creating new and denser collagen, creating an increase in the thickness of your skin. Thermage does not use needles, or any injections into your skin. Thermage uses radio frequency (RF) energy.

Not all people can benefit from thermage and many times people who have the most skin to tighten are least likely to respond to the treament. Be sure to contact a dermatologist or plastic surgeon that uses Thermage to find out if you would make a good candidate. Most will give free consultations.
The signs of skin aging are reduced by the radio frequency energy. The radio frequency tightens the tissue. It uniformly heats the dermis while cooling and protecting the epidermis. The collagen in the skin contracts and new collagen is produced over a period of time. Most people see results gradually over two to six months. Some people see results from thermage within a month.
The results normally last up to two years, sometimes longer depending on the rate your skin is aging. Some people find the actual process to be somewhat uncomfortable, so an anesthetic, or numbing cream, is applied about an hour before the procedure is performed. A full face treatment normally takes about three hours.
Thermage Cost
The cost for thermage is much less than a facelift. A facelift can cost anywhere from $7,000-$10,00. The average thermage cost is $2,000-$5,000, and the results can last anywhere from six months to two years.
The Pros:There is no anesthesia required for this procedure. There is little or no downtime whatsoever. There is little or no pain associated with this procedure. There is little or no side effects associated with this procedure.
The Cons:The results may not last very long depending on your skin aging.Insurance will not pay for this procedure. It will not work for everyone. It is not a replacement for a facelift.
